Beginner 3 Sewing Lessons

Beginner level three classes will introduce you to sleeves, darts, and zippers. Using woven cotton fabric, you will create a top or dress with darts, short sleeves, and a zipper.

Don't bring your sewing machine for the first class (except Saturday class).

1.

Class One: Measuring, Pattern Selection, Planning, Pattern Tracing

Supplies:

A suitable pattern (see instructor notes below)

pattern adjustment chart from level 2 class

Scissors and 5/8-inch wide Tape measure in good condition

Instructor provides: 2 yards Pattern Ease, fine-line markers, clear plastic ruler

Class Two: Cutting Out and Marking

woven cotton fabric; yardage per pattern envelope; zigzag cut edges and wash (no fabric softener)

1/2 yard lightweight fusible interfacing

*

One spool of good thread slightly darker than fabric color

*

One 9-inch zipper slightly darker than fabric color

*

Bobbin for this color

*

Size 70/10 universal sewing machine needle

Zipper foot for your sewing machine
