PMB Dresses and Blouses
Here is the guilty pattern. You will see that I like to use a pattern with sleeves, but make it sleeveless. I made very quick facings by laying the bodice pattern on the fabric, rotary cut the inside curve and two inches to either side, removed the pattern, and eyeballed a two inch width for the facing. I ignored the waist darts, but rotated the side darts to the center by placing the pattern piece at an angle to the fold. I cut from the neck to the side seams, then cut the side seams a particular length to the other side of the fabric. After the first dress, I made a template for placement of the elastic casing. The casing is made from two inch bias strips cut from remaining fabric in most cases. Here are four dresses. You can see I sometimes made headbands with the scraps.
