PMB Dresses and Blouses

I made some dresses and blouses from a PMB blouse pattern.

Here is the guilty pattern. You will see that I like to use a pattern with sleeves, but make it sleeveless.

I made very quick facings by laying the bodice pattern on the fabric, rotary cut the inside curve and two inches to either side, removed the pattern, and eyeballed a two inch width for the facing.

I ignored the waist darts, but rotated the side darts to the center by placing the pattern piece at an angle to the fold. I cut from the neck to the side seams, then cut the side seams a particular length to the other side of the fabric.

After the first dress, I made a template for placement of the elastic casing. The casing is made from two inch bias strips cut from remaining fabric in most cases.

Here is top #2, made with leftover fabric from a skirt DD made. Of all these garments made with the same pattern, it was the first one I actually sewed the side darts on the front.

Here is top #3, which was cut from a knit T-shirt top I had bought at a thrift store for no more than a dollar. I left the hem intact so I wouldn't have to do it.
