Pony-Tailer (Scrunchy)
- Fabric piece approx. 4-½" x 45" - Remember to use a ball-point or jersey needle when stitching knits and elastic. Use a universal needle when stitching woven fabrics. - ½" wide knit elastic Finish the long edges of fabric. Fold in half lengthwise, right sides together. Seam long edges together using a ¼" seam, leaving 3" free at each end. Turn right side out. Place right sides of short ends together and fasten with a ¼" seam. Mark a piece of ½" knit elastic about ½" in from one end. Mark it again 7" in from the first mark (mark it 18" for headband). Thread elastic through fabric loop. Overlap elastic, matching the marks. Stitch on marks only through elastic using a ball-point needle: first use straight stitches, then zigzag stitches. Trim elastic. Turn in remainder of long edges and topstitch together. |
