Using a Rotary Cutter
With your non-dominant hand, press down firmly on the ruler (wood, plastic, or metal). With your dominant hand, press the blade handle guide with your finger, leaning the top of the blade slightly away from the ruler. Press firmly while moving the blade along the ruler, with the force being towards the ruler at a very slight angle. Make sure that the blade screw is loose enough to allow the blade to turn, but tight enough to keep the blade assembly from falling off. The fabric here is being cut to make a tote bag. Another easy beginner project is the pillowcase project. A great intermediate project is the fitted sheets project.
