I made the short shorts and the long pants in this pattern:

First, I made the shorts:

Close-ups of the front and the back, in a cotton/nylon blend fabric with a little bit of stretch. I actually shortened them by an inch. I added pockets to later pairs.

Here are two more pairs I made:

I know the long pants appear to be baggy in the back, but I'm pretty sure my stance is causing those wrinkles:
